Kinder School Program
5 - 6 Years
An innovative program for children who have completed their pre-kindergarten year but miss the October 15th cut-off for public school Kindergarten in the state of Maine. This program is uniquely developed by Briarwood Children's House to meet the needs of children who are ready to participate in public school Common Core Kindergarten yet must wait wait another year to begin formal schooling. This engaging and interesting program stretches and challenges children's thinking & problem solving skills along with further practice in the development of writing and penmanship with attention to detail. Beginning reading and reading fluency are supported, encouraged and practiced. Children take a leadership role within our school community and become student leaders and helpers in all areas of the day-to-day activities within the classroom and around the school.
